86%的人星座要改了？NASA：沒有的事！

上周四（9月15日），Cosmopolitan雜誌網站上的一篇文章嚇壞了不少人，因為它說，很多人都把自己的星座給搞錯了……

△Cosmopolitan：別崩潰，但你的星座很可能變了！

Cosmopolitan說，NASA指出星座日期應該重新劃分，世界上86%的人的星座將因此發生變化。

不僅如此，星座不是12個，而是13個！

看到這則消息，全世界那些找對象看星座、求職看星座、考試看星座，甚至出門穿什麼衣服都要看看星座運勢的寶寶們哭暈在廁所了……

△我的星座變了，我很受傷。

我感覺自己的一生就是一個謊言。

△NASA怎麼就把星座給改了？過去19年我一直是摩羯座，現在你想讓我變成射手座？我不相信任何人了。

來看看Cosmopolitan的報導是怎麼說的：

NASA have decided to update the astrological signs for the first time in 2,000 years, meaning that a whopping 86% of us now have a different sign.

NASA決定重新劃分星座，這還是兩千多年來頭一遭，這意味著86%的人現在有新的星座了。

If you want to get all technical about it, the reason for this radical change is down to the fact that the sky today is extremely different to how it was thousands of years ago, which makes sense.

如果你想得到一個科學專業的解釋，這場星座巨變的原因是現今的天象已經和數千年前的天象千差萬別。

這不難理解。

And because Earth's axis no longer points in the same direction, our astrological signs are about a month out.

同時，由於地軸所指的方向出現了變動，十二星座的位置比以前大致提前了一個月。

對了，不是說多出了一個星座麼，那是什麼鬼？

Oh yeah, let's talk about Ophiuchus [ɔ'fju:kəs] , shall we? NASA sneakily added a 13th zodiac sign a while back, like's it no big thing. WELL. IT. IS.

好的，我們來談談蛇夫座吧。

NASA前一陣偷偷摸摸地加了第十三個星座，好像這沒什麼大不了似的。

可這分明是個大事兒好麼。

Ancient astrologers decided to ditch this particular constellation at the time in order for the 12 other signs to divide equally around the sun.

古代的占星家們為了在太陽周圍平均劃分12個星座，就把這個星座給去掉了。

But now we guess it's back in the game, and so if you were born between the 29th of November and the 17th December... well, congrats on that.

不過，現在它大概是要回來了。

如果你剛好出生在11月29日到12月17日之間，那麼，恭喜你了。

對了，Cosmopolitan還給出了新的星座劃分時間，你可以瞅瞅：

這則消息很快引發了其他媒體的跟風報導，比如雅虎新聞就說「因為NASA，你的星座變了」，並且表示「我們大多數人馬上就會有身份認同危機了（the majority of us are about to experience a total identity crisis）」。

《鏡報》(The Mirror)就調皮了下說，早上通勤的時候，你翻看報紙的星象部分（horoscopes section），說你會有桃花運（have a romantic encounter），於是你就花痴呀花痴，然而並沒有遇到什麼心儀的人，於是你很失望。

不過你失望也很正常，因為你很可能→→一直都把星座給搞錯了……

不過，就在人們討論得不可開交的時候，一向高冷的NASA出來了，說：

Did you recently hear that NASA changed the zodiac signs? Nope, we definitely didn』t…

最近你是不是聽說NASA把星座給改了？壓根就沒有的事兒……

…Here at NASA, we study astronomy, not astrology. We didn』t change any zodiac signs, we just did the math.

我們NASA只研究天文學，不研究占星術。

我們沒有改星座，我們只是做了計算。

天文學和占星術有什麼區別呢？NASA是這樣解釋的：

Astronomy is the scientific study of everything in outer space. Astronomers and other scientists know that stars many light years away have no effect on the ordinary activities of humans on Earth.

天文學是研究外太空萬事萬物的一門科學。

天文學家和其他科學家認為許多光年之外的恆星並不會給地球上人類的日常活動帶來影響。

Astrology is something else. It’s not science. No one has shown that astrology can be used to predict the future or describe what people are like based on their birth dates.

占星術是另外一回事兒。

占星術不是科學。

並沒有人能證明占星術能預測未來，或者根據人們的出生日期能推斷出他們的品性。

那到底發生了什麼呢……Cosmopolitan不是說是NASA說的嗎？？

原來，NASA今年1月份（你沒看錯，今年1月份……）在面向兒童的網站Space Place上發表了一篇介紹星座和曆法的文章。

而正是這篇文章在8個月以後被Cosmopolitan掘出，然後經過層層傳播，整了個大新聞……

NASA的這篇文章說，生活在約3000年前的古巴比倫人認為星座的移動或許會對地球上的事件產生影響。

而我們今天所熟知的黃道十二宮正是以他們使用的曆法為基礎的。

不過斗轉星移，與古巴比倫時期相比，當今恆星的位置發生了變化。

當然，文章還提到了被遺漏的蛇夫座。

所以說了這麼多，星座到底是變了還是沒有變呢？？！！聽聽《衛報》（The Guardian) 給予的解答：

The fact about 86 per cent of people have a different sign than they thought is true. It is the result of a process called precession, where the Earth behaves like a spinning top, which takes 26,000 years and has at the moment moved the zodiac by about a month.

86%的人屬於與他們所認為的不同的星座，這是事實。

這是由於歲差引起的。

地球就像一個旋轉的陀螺，經過2.6萬年，現今黃道的位置比以前提前了一個月。

And the fact about the missing Ophiuchus, the 13th sign, is true too. It is thought that ancient astrologers might have left out the sign to neatly divide up the 360-degree path of the sun into 12 neat parts, each making up 30-degrees.

此前被忽略的第十三個星座——蛇夫座，也是確實存在的。

古代的占星家們很可能為了將360度的黃道平分成12部分，使每個星座占整30度而故意忽略了蛇夫座。

But modern astrology is its own thing, and acts by its own rules. It doesn』t really matter whether the star signs change as long as everyone still reads their old one, and astrologers still write about them the same way.

但是現代的占星術自成一家，有著自己的規則。

只要人們還信奉之前的星座，占卜家們仍然按之前的星座解讀，那麼星座改不改就並不重要了。
